Here are just a few questions we've encountered over the years.
How often should I have my oil changed in my Audi or Porsche?
OIL CHANGES should be performed every 10k or once a year for both vehicles.
How often should I have my tires rotated?
Rotate tires on an Audi at least once a year.
My owner's manual says to use premium grade fuel in my car. Do I really need to?
Yes, you should use premium so that you get the best performance and fuel economy, mid-grade would be the lowest grade we would ever suggest but you will have decreased mileage and performance.
Does the brand of gas I buy have any effect on performance?
The brand of gas is not usually an issue but you do want to try and always buy your gas from a station that is a high volume pumper.
Will a warranty pay for all expenses?
No warranty pays for all expenses, they are all limited warranties. Wear and tear items are usually not covered and maintenance items are also not covered.
Are there any concerns about turbochargers any more?
As long as you use synthetic oil and let the engine cool down after a spirited drive there are not many issues with turbos.
What is synthetic oil? Should I use synthetic oil in my car?
Synthetic oil is processed to the point that the molecules are all the same size. This helps in providing lubrication at all areas of need. Synthetic oil also keeps its viscosity even in extreme temperatures. This provides a consistent level of lubrication at all times
Why do my brakes squeal and make noise after I just had them changed?
Brake noise is caused by vibration. The squealing sound you may hear when you apply the brakes is usually caused by the brake pads vibrating in their
mounts. This is a normal condition. Depending upon the local environment, weather conditions and individual driving patterns, sounds from the braking system may be more or less apparent.
Sometimes you will hear a grinding sound. This can be common during the first few stops after the vehicle has been parked for an extended period of time; such as overnight. This is caused by a light coating of rust that builds up on the metal surface especially in times of higher humidity. The brake pads actually clean off that buildup during the first few stops of the driving cycle.
A trace squeak or squeal sound occurs with semi-metallic brake pads at medium speeds when light to medium braking pressure is applied to the brake pedal. This usually occurs during the first few stops when brakes are cold and is more prevalent from the rear brakes.
To try and eliminate noise after brakes have been changed you can try having extra stop squeal additive applied to contact points.
